Jeep Tops – Bestop Trektop

Comments 368 Jeep Tops – Bestop Trektop

The versatility and premium quality of the Bestop Trektop make it the perfect choice to kick off our contest. What better way to begin than with the winner of the 2008 Design Excellence Award from Chrysler?

The Bestop Trektop is an improvement on factory Jeep tops in a number of ways. First of all, it’s made of a higher quality fabric that will maintain its shape no matter what the temperature. This fabric is also mildew-resistant, so constant rain and dew won’t affect it as much, and it contains UV inhibitors so the color doesn’t fade under the harsh rays of the sun.

Of course one of the biggest improvements is the ability to roll back the top to create a sunroof environment. Because we’re installing it on a 4-door model Jeep JK, the top can actually roll back all the way so both front and rear seats get to enjoy the fresh air and warm sun. This is a great feature because you can get that open air Jeep experience in just a couple of minutes without entirely removing the Jeep top.

You get to decide which of 3 great door options will be included with the Bestop Trektop:

Element Doors

These safari-style doors are made of heavy-duty 1 ¼” tube construction that simultaneously provides exterior protection and ventilation. Large storage pockets can be positioned both on the outside and inside of the door, or you can completely remove them for the true safari style. Best of all, no drilling is required to install.

Element Doors with Steel Enclosure

You get all the benefits of standard element doors, but you also get the additional Element Door Enclosure kit. This allows you to convert the safari-style Element door into a solid half door, which helps keep the elements out in colder, rainier weather. The steel enclosure can even be painted to match the original Jeep color.

2-Piece Soft Doors

2-piece soft doors provide unparalleled versatility. Since the door is in 2 pieces, you can decide whether you want to have a half door or full door, which will offer superior protection in the winter months. The upper and lower doors simply fasten together with Velcro while double-bulb weather stripping ensures a tight seal. And the fabric color can match the Bestop soft top.

About Bestop: They’ve been in the business for more than 50 years, starting out as a small trim shop that made canvas tops for WWII Jeeps. Once the war ended, they expanded into commercial Jeeps and they’ve been providing the world with an ever-expanding line of quality Jeep tops and accessories ever since.

2-piece soft doors will help keep the weight down on the jeep. If the project will include a more powerful motor, I would vote for the element doors with steel enclosure; but assuming the stock motor, I’d vote 2-piece soft doors..
